I've got a bear of a side-project going. A while back I stripped out all of my CD jewel cases of their artwork and covers and tossed the cases. That saved a TON of space! Now I have all of my music stored by category and alphebatized for easy reference and they take up no space.
Anyway, I felt remorse over simply disposing of so many good covers and lyric books so I am going through and scanning the good stuff. Each picture takes an initial scan, a cropping scan, then I adjust the shadows, colors, etc and do a final scan. Not the quickest thing to be doing while keeping the majority of my focus on the other two screens.
But I'll have some good artwork when I'm done!
Note: You know your scanner is REALLY good when you can pick out the individual ink blots from the cover art as though they were scales on a fish.
