Grand Canyon Skywalk: Forget That!

Go to the link and then scan through the Pics / Slideshow section.

In person, I'd probably have no problem walking out there and I'd enjoy it. But the angles on some of these pictured have me getting vertigo from here. The glass is high enough to block accidental falls, but you KNOW people are going to jump off that thing.... and I don't just mean base jumpers.

I wonder how many people will manage to walk all the way out before having the panic attack and having to crawl back? Or how much it will sway on windy days and make everyone puke. Or how wonderful it must be to enjoy such a breathtaking view only to be snapped back to reality by some kids jumping up and down to test the flooring next to you.

And why am I picturing the thing dropping off the cliff while loaded with people.... and then one of the Xtacles from Frisky Dingo comes flying back up into view saying "Jet boots RULE!"?

and i didn't know this, but not only is the attraction not in grand canyon state park, but quite a distance away. AND you have to go over 14 miles of unpaved road to get to it. my family visited before the skywalk was built and it's a bumpy trip. i can't even imagine what will happen to the road with the new influx of people. anyways, turns out we aren't venturing far enough to visit it. not sure if i would want to do it anyways. i didn't realize it was a walkway, i thought the whole thing was glass, not just the outer edge, but that does make sense for weight issues.

It does appear to have a glass floor as well. Tori, they did not make an entire structure purely out of glass! LOL While certain forms of glass are rather strong, they simply would not offer the structural stability necessary for a safe platform.

There's nothing more exciting than a midnight premiere of a cartoon series, especially one from Sealab 2021's Matt Thompson. The new Adult Swim show is actually a spin-off from Thompson's other well-known work, Frisky Dingo. Its widely anticipated third season hasn't been aired yet, but the series creators came up with a solution. Just this weekend, Adult Swim launched the first two episodes of The Xtacles.
